Helping a friend can be as simple as acknowledging their feelings and experiences, showing them support and keeping in touch regularly.
We created a series of interactive experiences that teach the concept of A.S.K. - Acknowledge, Support, and Keep-In-Touch.

In the lead up to Mental Health Action Day, SHOWTIME/MTV Entertainment Studios and youth mental health nonprofit Active Minds wanted to meet young people where they are and create a digital ecosystem to equip them with the skills and confidence to provide emotional support to their friends.
We created two engaging online experiences: a choose-your-own adventure YouTube video and a mobile-first interactive website.

The website offers a concise explanation of the A.S.K. framework. Interactive features include SMS-based and chat-bot-style conversations with Charlie, an "emotions wheel" to explore feelings and a calendar reminder tool for checking in on friends.
The website’s design incorporates a story-like landing page with parallax animations, divided into chapters that reflect the A.S.K. acronym. Users can also download social media shareable: a customizable checklist promoting healthy friend support practices.

As the Creative Lead, I was responsible for the concept and execution of the interactive website. I was involved in every step of the project: from the first client pitch to user testing and final delivery.
My role in the project included defining the creative concept for the website experience, storyboarding the entire flow, and presenting it to clients. I worked closely with a brilliant strategist and a talented art director to ensure that this difficult subject matter is handled with grace and respect and that look and feel of the experience is aligned with the clients' strategic goals.
Internally, I collaborated with a team of graphic designers, illustrators, and developers to ensure that the website was not only beautiful and engaging, but also responsive on every device and accessible for users with Assistive Technology devices.
